As a specialist company in the electric vehicle powertrain market, Electra EV is continuously innovating to bring new solutions to the forefront in its core areas of powertrain optimisation and energy utilisation. The company does this through designing, developing and adapting electric powertrain technologies and by utilising a systems approach to arrive at range and torque requirements in real use case scenarios. In May 2021, Electra EV was awarded ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification by TÜV SÜD South Asia. The company’s Coimbatore location has been certified for ‘Design and Manufacture of Electric Powertrain for Automotive Drive Application’, and the Pune location for ‘Design, Development and Marketing of Electric Powertrains’. Electrodrive Powertrain Solutions is the 1st Independent Pure-Play EV Powertrain Company in India with organisation-wide ISO 9001:2015 certification.

With a 72V architecture, the product development team at Electra EV was able to quickly respond to the customer need of an extended range from the 140 km variant of Tigor EV and modify the designs to increase the range to meet an ARAI certified range of 213 km without disturbing the physical boundaries available in the vehicle for the electric powertrain kit. Effective optimisation also played a role in improving cabin cooling. The cost increased minimally, thereby keeping smiles intact for all involved.
